EYE-MAC

The EYE-MAC Project is the next phase following the HamSEES Studies. Through the EYE-MAC Project, an exciting innovative community endeavour, volunteer vision screeners will be trained and sent into schools to perform vision screening on children. The children who fail the vision screening will then receive a full eye examination by healthcare professionals. We are actively fundraising to purchase and equip a purpose-built van as a state-of-the-art mobile eye examination unit. Through the acquisition of a mobile eye unit, the EYE-MAC Project will have a greater reach in delivering eye care to children. We are confident that this project will allow for the development of a cost-effective, evidence-based model of delivering eye care to children in communities where there is no direct access to eye care professionals both in Canada and beyond. In this way, McPERG is making necessary investments to enable to allow children to have equal access to eye care.
