Children can be born with glaucoma or develop glaucoma during infancy. Measuring intraocular pressure in newborns is difficult and often requires anaesthetizing or sedating the child. There is much debate regarding the exact effect of anaesthetic agents on intraocular pressure. This study aims to provide the most accurate answers to date by carrying out an exhaustive systematic review of all relevant published research in this field.
